Champion Build Guide
Intro
Waddup I'm Shrinky. I been playing League on and off for a few years, but I've been playing it a lot more recently. I'm not the best and I'm hoping by making this it will help me learn and understand the champ more. This guide will probably change a lot due to how new the champ is and I'm updating it when I can. I don't even know if Aurora is a feasable jg pick but I've played a couple games with her and it seems doable. This is the first guide I've made so any suggestions on how to make it better would be appreciated! I stream most days on my Twitch channel if you wanna drop by and say hi.
Abilities
PASSIVE - SPIRIT ABJURATION
"If Aurora damages an enemy 3 times with her spells and attacks, she will perform an exorcism, dealing a percentage of the enemy’s max health as magic damage and freeing a spirit that will empower her healing every second and enter Spirit Mode, granting additional movement speed for a short duration. For every additional spirit following Aurora, her bonus movement speed will increase."
Aurora's passive is good for an extra bit of burst damage and keeps her mobile. It's really easy to get off and farm spirits with a Q-E-Q or Q-auto-Q combo.
Q - TWOFOLD HEX
"Aurora fires a blast of cursed energy in a direction, dealing magic damage to enemies hit and marking them with spirit energy.
Recast: Aurora ends the curse, drawing back in the spirit energy to herself, dealing magic damage to enemies passed through based on their missing health."
I always start Q as with the recast and an auto-attack weaved between, you can get a good combo level 1 that lets you activate your passive when clearing camps. The ability doesn't stop on the first enemy hit, it will pass through all in range.
W - ACROSS THE VEIL
"Aurora hops in a direction. Upon landing, Aurora enters the spirit realm, becoming invisible and entering Spirit Mode for a short duration. Takedowns on enemy champions within 3 seconds of damaging them will reset the cooldown of Across the Veil.
I still need practice with it, but the W can be used to hop over the landscape for ganks and getting to camps. If you're in a tight spot during a fight, it can also be useful for confusing the enemy as you turn invisibile for a second and dodging abilities, but it doesn't make you invulnerable. It's essentialy Kha Zix's R, similar duration too.
E - THE WEIRDING
"Aurora unlocks a window to the spirit realm, which sends out a blast of spirit magic, dealing magic damage in an area and applies a decaying slow over a short duration. The force of the blast knocks Aurora back slightly."
I usually use this to get passive off with the aforementioned Q-E-Q combo and for ganks. I tried to use it to close distance on an enemy by shooting it backwards like you can do with Caitlyn's E, but unlinke Caitlyn's E, Aurora pauses for a second and stops moving before firing. There's no channeling or anything, she just stops moving when using it. Now that I'm writing this, you might be able to use the back blast feature to hop over landscapes, but the W does that as well so idk why anyone would use this ability like that.
R - BETWEEN WORLDS
"Aurora unlocks a rift to the spirit realm, sending out a pulse of spirit energy that deals magic damage and slows enemies hit. The area merges with the spirit realm for a short duration, giving Aurora an empowered Spirit Mode doubling her bonuses while she’s in it, and allowing her to travel from one end of the area to the other by crossing the threshold. Any enemies attempting to cross the threshold are slowed after being pushed back toward the center of the area. Aurora can recast this ability to end the effect early."
This ability is the reason why I wanted to play Aurora in jg. Similar to Mordekaiser's R, it traps the enemy in a circular zone for a limited time (and it is very limited). You can also choose where to cast the ability within a certain range, it's not centered on Aurora. This ability is perfect for ganks, W in and throw down your R to trap the enemy, using the edge bouncing to close distance on them so you can hit your combos and get your passive off. You can also hit your combo first to get your passive off and get a spirit for bonuses then W-R and buff your bonuses.
Combos
Q-E-Q
Easy combo to get passive off, really fast to cast. Especially useful in team fights as you can free a spirit from every enemy hit. If you're feeling really ballsy, you can flash back in after the knock back from your E and use your R to trap everyone and keep them in range for the rest of your team's abilities.
Q-AA-Q
Another easy and quick combo, you only need to aim your first Q as auto-attacks and the recast Q don't require any brain power. I'll usually do this when fighting isolated enemies.
W-R
My main ganking combo when I have ult, W in to get into the fight and use R to keep the enemy from running away.
I'm sure there's more to be found, I will update this as I figure out more.
