This item is good for AP Tank like Sejuani, or Ap supp like Lux. But I thing it's not the best item for AP carry, because the range and the AP bonus are too litle.

Abyssal scepter + Void Staff = insane magic pen. so when i build Abyssal scepter i almost always try to build the void staff as well
