Regarding late game.
Is it really better to haveand compared to and ?

It depends on how you see it, the domination runes are more consistent, offering good damage thru out the entire game while geathering storm (having to out-dps both sudden and eyeball) only really outperformes them after the 40min mark and most games don't last that long.

Now you might think well some games last longer than 40min so in those cases it's the better option right? Not necessarily since first you'd have to predict the game lasting that long but more importantly at that point Yi starts to fall off a little, he used to be a late game monster and he still respectfully has his place (dps wise) but since he is so squishy, with all the burst, cc and kiting we got and currently have in league you really want to avoid getting into a state of the game where every enemy could be a major threat.

Transcendence is a noob trap on yi, the haste you get from it negatively impacts his Q cooldown refund with autoattacks and ability resets on takedowns isn't really needed/noticeable since he already has that as a passive.

Hello, On Sinerias' new Master Yi video, he recommends PTA to be the main go to rune. Why do you think that PTA and conq is bad for yi atm?

Hey there, on the top part of the guide you can find 3 options for runes with notes added to them, which give you an idea in what situation you should consider using either one of those set ups.

It features Hail of Blades if you like to gank alot and for a stronger early game against squishier targets where you rahter want to burst them quickly and make up for Yi's weak early game and if you like to build crit or lethality based items, aswell as Press The Attack for mid and late game if you like to farm and scale depending on your preference.

In my personal opinion none of the current runes are really "optimal" on Yi and come close to what lethal tempo was. They are just the best current options available but that does not make them a great fit for Yi. In which i consider Conqueror the worst out of those 3 options since it takes too long to stack up.

Edit: Just saw that one of the notes was saying "conq and pta are bad don't use them" that was an very outdated statement i forgot to update it but i now did hope it looks more clear now and thanks for letting me know.

Sorry for the late answer, generally speaking it is a good idea however you do not want to build against 1 champion specifically as yi because this will impact how well you can perform against the entire enemy team.

For Rammus exclusively speaking, if we are talking about tryhard ranked games in which your main objective is to win the game you're better off trying your best in avoiding fights against him alone in most situations, since even if you were to build items that help you against rammus he'll still probably be able to reflect alot of damage or at least stall for long enough to make your E and R run out or have his team comming to help.

It is important to realize that your job is not to kill him and proof the world that yi can beat rammus but to play smart by targeting the carries so you can outnumber the enemy team and have the advantage. If you have trouble surviving even without trying to kill him tho, then you need to work on your gameplay.

Thanks for your feedback!

Hello! Very well-made guide, my friend!

I would recommend taking Last Stand over Coup de Grace because it provides extra damage on your Alpha Strike. Infact you CAN fight people when you are low hp, you just need to dodge CC (may be harder in low ELOs)

Let me know what you think!

Thanks for the feedback, theres already extra information about that but also about other stuff in the little note pop ups next to each section and for runes they can be found in the top of the page. I still prefer to show and use CdG over LS because i often rather try to escape when im low on HP so extra damage wont really help when trying to get away and being able to kill my enemys faster when they are low is more important to me as i then get my ability resets faster.

I've got a question about the layout of the guide. How do you do those options for the "CHOOSE CHAMPION BUILD:", either I'm blind or it's hidden.
Thanks

Under basic setup (start page on edit guide) you can set it up at option "4. Champions" just add another champion or the same one if you want more options.

Thoughts on going Immortal Shield Bow or Eclipse for on-hit builds?

Suseri (6) | May 20, 2022 1:26pm
You will lack dps on both options, it'll be difficult to burst kiters and champs with peel and also harder to fight bruisers and tanks.

Make sense, I guess your job as yi is too kill them really fast.

First off thank you for making and updating my favorite yi guide. Secondly would you recommend HOB or Lethal Tempo on current yi in the jg and why or how would I know when one is more viable than the other? Thanks!

Happy to hear you say that about my Guide.
Picking Runes is mostly based on enemy champion picks and your own playstyle preference.
Both LT and HOB are working well on Yi but both also have their ups and downs.

If you have trouble deciding on which one to mainly use you should play straight 10 games in a row with the same runes and look, not on how many of those games you've won but on how many of those games you've performed better then with the other runes.

I like to run LT over HOB because HOB only really helps from the early to mid game, thats also when Yi is the weakest but it kinda forces you to do something before it becomes useless while also having an annoying bug in which the runes sometimes does not work after you use Q. LT is more consistent, scales better and makes you get more out of your damage in longer skirmishes. The game is currently going into a direction where consistency again becomes really important and better on Yi, hope that helps.
