How is Aurelion Sol a Fighter?
Asked by Lasoor on April 15, 2017
League of Legends considers Aurelion Sol's secondary role to be "Fighter". I don't quite understand how a squishy, ranged mage who dies to anyone that can get in melee distance could possibly be considered a "Fighter" champion.
Can someone please explain this to me?
"Fighters are close range combatants that possess a mix of offensive and defensive capabilities. While they don't have as much utility as a tank or as much damage as an assassin, a fighter's damage will add up over time to make it a major threat. Each fighter has a unique blend of mobility, damage, disruption and durability."
It's fair to say Aurelion Sol ticks all the boxes:
β Close-range combatant (damaging enemies with stars)
β Possesses a mix of offensive (passive) and defensive (CC) capabilities
β Damage will add up over time (more stars = more damage)
β Blend of mobility (E), damage (passive), disruption (Q), durability (build path)
Yet Amumu is considered a Tank Mage even though he works far better as a fighter than Aurelion Sol.
I'd consider Aurelion Sol to be just a Mage or a Mage and Support rather than a Fighter and a Mage. Imo he's more of an assassin than a fighter. If you know how to use him right you can fly into an unsuspecting lane with a giant stun and kill the enemies.
