Try to stay behind minions, NEVER behind or ahead your ADC. I have experienced too many times being grabbed because I was staying behind my ADC and he dodged the grab that hit me. Can be a cancer playing against him, be careful.
Aphelios
I didn't play with many Aphelios since his release, because he was often banned or picked by the enemy team, then Riot nerfed him so no one uses him anymore. I don't really know how to say about him because I haven't learn his abilities yet lol. The few Aphelios I got in game as allies were pretty good and as Lulu I could speed them and give them attack speed and save him from assassins at the same time. I can easily say that a fed Aphelios can win a game with a decent support behind. I'm sorry I haven't much info about everything else like laning phase or teamfights.

Introduction
I'm Autumn Pearl and I play on EUW server, I was Gold IV in season 13 and I main the support role. I loved Lulu since the first moment I played her 10 years ago and I have 1 million mastery points with her.
This is my first and only guide and I hope you'll enjoy it!
I'm Italian, please forgive my English.
Thanks for every person that gave me a +rep and holy moly 3 million views! I really appreciate it and puts a smile on my face.
Thanks for the 3kk views! I never expected this to happen. It's a big achievement for me and it's rewarding after spending dozens of hours editing this guide. ^o^
Pros
+ Strong early game + Utility + CCs on 3/4 skills + Fits into almost any comp + High poke + Amazing peel + Engage/Disengage skills + Great assassin-buster, anti-dive, and anti-stealth + Annoying laugh + Low cooldowns mid-late game + Incredibly fun to play Lulu is a gorgeous life-saver. She has a complete kit of OP stuff that you can use. Your choices in using her skills can make you a good Lulu player. You have to be quick thinking what to do in a certain moment and you have to predict what enemies will do (ex. towerdive) and be ready to react. Using your R ( Wild Growth) at the right moment can interrumpt jumps ( Rengar, Kha'Zix, Lee Sin...). |
Cons
- Hard to master - Relies on teammates - Needs a teammate to start teamfights - No sustain - Mana hungry - Squishy Lulu can be as good as you want, but she has weaknesses too. If enemies see that you're playing the game saving your teammates, they can probably decide to focus you instead. Unfortunately Lulu doesn't have skills to engage, so you rely on your teammates. Don't save your ADC if he's behind, but focus on the one in your team that's carrying. The problem is when your team isn't good at all and you can save them as much as you want but they will still die doing nothing. |

Pix (Passive) EFFECT RADIUS: 2000 COST: / / / COOLDOWN: / / / |
Lulu is assisted by Pix, a faerie, who fires a barrage of 3 bolts to her target every time she uses a basic attack against an enemy dealing magic damage. This passive is useful when you decide to poke enemies and push the lane attacking minions. If you have 2 minions in a row and you attack the farthest one from you, Pix will attack the nearest one (so you deal damage to two minions instead of one) Use this passive on enemies at any time possible, and if enemies turn around to attack you, shield yourself with Help, Pix! and run back. Casting Help, Pix! on an ally transfers Pix's help to them for the duration (if Pix kills an enemy, the kill will not go to Lulu). |
Glitterlance (Q) TARGET RANGE: 950 COST: 50/55/60/65/70 mana COOLDOWN: 7 SPEED: 1450 |
Lulu and Pix each fire a magic bolt towards the target point, each one dealing magic damage, reduced to 70% against minions, and slowing them by 80%, decaying over 2 seconds. If an enemy is damaged by both bolts, they take 25% bonus damage and the duration of the slow is refreshed. I use this ability to push the lane when my ADC ask me to and to poke enemies after they get hit by Help, Pix!. If you really want to deal more damage in lane, you can upgrade this skill before Whimsy, but I personally would do it only if I have an ADC that doesn't need attack speed in early game. |
Whimsy (W) TARGET RANGE: 650 COST: 65 mana COOLDOWN: 17/16.5/16/15.5/15 SPEED: 2250 |
Lulu casts erratic magic upon an ally champion, giving attack speed and movement speed / Lulu launches a spell on the target enemy champion polymorphing them and reducing their movement speed. Lulu casts erratic magic upon the target champion, giving them bonus attack speed and 25% (+5% per 100 AP) bonus movement speed for the next few seconds if they are an ally, or polymorphing them as well as slowing them by a flat 60 for a shorter duration if they are an enemy. This skill is one of the most annoying in the game, because you can make someone useless, like the enemy ADC/engager/APC/assassin if they are going for your ADC (or just a teammate). Don't use this skill randomly, because it is super important to have it when you really need it. |
Help, Pix! (E) TARGET RANGE: 650 COST: 60/65/70/75/80 mana COOLDOWN: 8 |
Lulu sends Pix to the target ally, shielding them / Lulu sends Pix to the target enemy, dealing magic damage and granting vision through fog of war, brushes and stealth. Lulu sends Pix to the target unit, shielding them for up to 2,5 seconds if they are an allied champion, or dealing magic damage to her target and granting true sight of them for 4 seconds if they are an enemy. This skill is useful in every way: you can shield an ally, you can deal damage and you can reveal invisible champs (if you cast Help, Pix! before they go invisible). The shield lasts only 2,5 seconds, so you gotta be fast and shield at the right moment. Try not to waste your shield because it could be fatal for your lane. |
> > > | We want to max out Help, Pix! because it is the skill we will use the most to shield and poke. Then Whimsy as it polymorphs people (for 2,25 seconds) in cute little thingies and because it allows a lot of attack and movement speed. We level up Glitterlance last because its slow it's always 80%, so it's useful even at the first level and I personally don't want to deal damage (I just prefer Whimsy, but if you want to poke more early game you can max Glitterlance). |
Sorcery★ Summon Aery synergies incredibly well with Lulu's play-style mix of offensive lane pressure and late-game shielding. Make sure to pick up Aery as often as you can to make full use of her. ★ Manaflow Band on Lulu allows you to trade rather aggressively in lane often while keeping your mana reserves relatively high. You can pick Nullifying Orb if you're against lots of AP champs but you will have to build AP to gain some more shield. ★ Transcendence on Lulu allows you to get more Ability Haste (Cooldown reduction) on your abilities at levels 5 and 8, while from level 11 it reduces the remaining CD of your basic abilities (Q-W-E) by 20% on champion takedowns (kills and assists). ★ Scorch paired with Summon Aery, grants Lulu fantastic lane power and harassment chip damage. Waterwalking is not really worth, because it would be only useful in Dragon and Baron fights. Inspiration★ Biscuit Delivery allows you to have more sustain in lane and it's perfect for poking enemies or just surviving longer. It can save you from Ignite or Scorch, so I would recommend this rune. In alternative, you can pick Future's Market. ★ Cosmic Insight helps you a lot in both Summoner Spells and activatable items like Mikael's Blessing and Redemption by giving them cooldown reduction. In alternative, you can pick Approach Velocity. |
Standard item, helps doing more damage or reducing the incoming damage when you shield. If you feel that you're taking too much damage, you can build Celestial Opposition or if you want to heal a bit and have a movement speed burst when you use Q Glitterlance, go for Solstice Sleigh. |
I think that these are very useful for your Summoner Spell CD and Ability Haste. If you prefer Mobility Boots, then go for it because those are great too, especially if you want to roam around the map helping your jungler and mid, but try to be sure that you're ADC is going to be ok farming alone. |
This item is strong as hell on Lulu, because of the attack speed it gives and damage on-hit and now we have lots of champion that are attack speed-based, even top laners and junglers, so it's worth to build 90% of the times, but if you don't have these type of champ in team, avoid this. |
I think this item is one of the most important thing to build because it allows you to buy Vision Ward even if you have no more space in the inventory. |
Exhaust: Slows a target by 30% and reduces its damage by 40%. Exhaust is the spell I like to pick as support when I´m against assassins or heavy damage dealers like Master Yi (remember that you can't slow him with Exhaust if he's ulting), Irelia, Xin Zhao and so on. I can use it to engage or disengage. It's great against almost everyone really, but I take Ignite when I know that I will be playing aggressive or if the enemy team has a Dr. Mundo or champs like that. I would recommend to take this even if you don't trust your support skills yet. |
Ignite: Sets fire to the enemy and does damage over 5 seconds, applying Grevious Wounds. If you're going to play aggressive or the enemy team has a lot of heals/lifesteal, pick Ignite instead of Exhaust. |
- Yellow: Vital to protect the jungler on your team
- Blue: For protection depending on which lane you're on
- Red: To guard Dragon and Baron
And I made this for who is confused or unsure on when to ward (I know that you can't ward if your trinket is on cd):
I almost always start with Q Glitterlance, even if I have a poke lane against just because with my Q I can trade a bit of damage instead of just shielding my adc and wait for it to come off cooldown. When you get level 2, take E Help, Pix! so you can use it to poke (E on enemy > AA > Q to slow them down > AA) or shield their poke. If they have a jungler that can gank after level 2-3 (like Lee Sin, Shaco etc.), ward the river bush if you're pushing (ward their tri-bush if your jungler killed scuttle crub). If you're against a poke support, poke back only if that support is squishy, like Sona or Janna, while if it is a Lux, wait for her skills to be on CD before going to attack her.
If you're against a champ like Leona or Thresh, try to poke them with AA when they're attacking minions or if they trade you. Leona's engage is faster than Thresh's, so if she engages your adc, shield him and use Whimsy on their adc to make her engage useless and run back. If they keep following you, use Glitterlance to slow them down.
Always try to recall when your adc is recalling, so you get back to lane together. You'll recall when your adc recalls again or if you know that he's not going to die if you go back. Use Whimsy to get back to lane faster.
Keep bushes warded to avoid enemy ganks. Ward the drake if they have a champ that can solo it, like Shyvana, Kindred, Udyr, Warwick, Xin Zhao etc. or if you see that they want to fight for it.
There will be times in which you won't have wards to place, so don't push the lane and try to stay behind minions.
If your adc has escapes or a high mobility ( Ezreal, Lucian, Caitlyn, Corki...) use Whimsy on you to run away from ganks or engages.
I hope you'll love her the way I do.
I'd like to thank my friends for reading this guide and help me with my errors and for giving me the motivation to go on.
Thanks to jhoijhoi because without her guide, mine would be nothing.
Thanks for reading this guide, I really hope you enjoyed it! ♥
The spirit led her far into the forest. They went over boulders, under logs, and around ancient, overgrown stone circles. The faerie darted into a cave hidden behind a waterfall, and Lulu went after it. It flittered ahead, always just out of reach.
Down and down and down they went. Lulu tumbled and scrambled around twisted roots and glowing mushrooms, and at some point they crossed over into the spirit realm without her realizing it. Their surroundings became progressively stranger and more disorienting; up became down, forward became backward, big became small.
Finally, after what seemed forever, Lulu caught up with the faerie, whose name, she discovered, was Pix.
With a click of his tiny fingers, Pix turned her humble walking stick into a spiraling staff, and tossed it back to her. It sprouted leaves and flowers, making Lulu gasp in delight. So began their forever-friendship, built of mischief, fun, and love of nature.
Pix had led her to the Glade.
Bandle City, Lulu’s home, was a bizarre and magical place that defied logic, where time was meaningless and the natural laws of the material realm did not wholly apply. And yet the Glade was a place stranger still—it existed long before yordles came into the world, and it was perhaps from the Glade that Bandle City itself sprung. A place of raw primordial magic, it was hidden away so deeply that no yordle had ever found it… until now.
Here, Lulu’s own magic became wildly magnified. Laughing joyfully, she discovered she could reshape her surroundings at will, as well as alter her form to whatever she wanted. Everything and anything from her overactive imagination came to life.
Lulu didn’t know if Pix had brought her here because he saw in her a kindred soul and simply wanted someone to play with, or if the Glade needed her for some other purpose—but she fell in love with it instantly. Her life became one of endless creation and play, and she soon forgot anything else existed.
When finally she remembered, it was like waking from a dream.
She found herself back in the material realm, not knowing if a single day had passed, or a thousand years. To her surprise and joy, she found that some of her newfound power had come with her, allowing her to make small things large, change colors to those more pleasing to her, and cause creatures to fall spontaneously asleep. To Pix’s endless amusement, she Whimsy turned the mightiest beasts into tiny, bewildered frogs or squirrels with a flick of her staff.
Nevertheless, she began to miss the Glade. She decided to go back, but realized she didn’t remember the way. Pix was no help, claiming to have forgotten as well, though it was possible he just didn’t want to return quite yet.
Unperturbed, Lulu set out anyway. She was certain the route back to the Glade was always shifting, making one way as good as another. She simply picked whatever direction took her fancy at any particular moment, and even threw herself into seemingly terrible danger whenever it looked fun. Her travels took her far and wide, and magic, mayhem, and mishap tended to follow wherever she went.
In Demacia, she freed a group of children from their boring history lessons, and led them off into a nearby meadow. Her game resulted in them being turned into toadstools for a full turn of the moon, while their desperate parents and the local militia searched for them in vain. It wasn’t quite what Lulu had intended, but fun nonetheless. When the children finally returned home and told everyone what had happened, no one believed them.
In the borderlands of the Freljord, Lulu thought it would be hilarious to change the weapons of two rival tribes into flowers just as they clashed, which resulted in absolute chaos and confusion. More recently, she has found herself happily lost in Ionia, playing in the glowing everblooms of Qaelin, and playing pranks on bewildered acolytes of the Order of Shadow, who she thinks are far too serious for their own good.
While Lulu seeks to return to the Glade, and misses it, she is happy, for every day brings more opportunity for adventure and fun.
And besides, she has come to realize that she carries a part of the Glade in her heart, wherever she goes.
"The best path between two points is upside-down, between, then inside-out and round again."
