    Season 3 Corki questions

ok, so I'm thinking about giving Corki a try again. I genuinely like the character and his kit, despite his shortcomings and currently poor place in the meta.

I was wondering, how does one itemize Corki in S3? Is he still pretty much Trinity Force like S2, or can he adapt to a kind of Elder Lizard/Muramana build like Ezreal?

I realize that currently he suffers due to poor synergy with many AD carry items, AS and crit in general are wonky due to his missles, that's why I'm curious if he could do a more poke centric build.

I'm quite sure he works well with a blue build. I haven't played Corki actively (a few normals games occasionally) but a few good core items would be:

    Bloodthirster
    Black Cleaver
    Muramana
    Spirit of the Elder Lizard
    Trinity Force

Basically anything that gives AD is nice, and allows him to spam pretty hard. (it is obvious that most of his damage comes from his spells)
You gotta keep in mind that he is really mana hungry. That's why Muramana is a good choice. It is quite easy to stack as well.

    Purchase order would be:
    Dorans
    Brutalizer
    Tear
    Elder Lizard
    Muramana
    Black cleaver
    Bloodthirster
    Triforce

So basically I did some more tests on this: The build mentioned above works really well :3

Corki is just an odd-mix of ad caster and hyper carry. When you focus on just one of the two receive mediocre results.

Basically you just have to build him in a way to COMPLETELY destroy your lane, and to keep destroying in skirmishes/small fights because in teamfights you will get outscaled anyway. A reason blue Ezreal is good, is the ~4 second cooldown on his Arcane Shift, that is what Corki can't do.

EDIT: This would not make a poke-centric build the optimal way. I think it is best to max Gatling Gun first because you have incredible all-out damage, but lack the mana to keep up the sustained poke. Besides that, since you need to stack rockets, you don't have an infinite amount of poke in the first place.

I've been building Muramana on Corki as well as Spirit of the Elder Lizard, without much success. I wasn't the best Corki player in the first place, but I really hate him as a champion right now. He's so damn mana hungry. I honestly think the best way to build him is either Blue Build or Trinity Force, Bloodthirster and attack speed, since Corki scales well off of raw AD and added DPS (due to Hextech Shrapnel Shells). I still think this is weak because he deals a lot of Magic Damage and True Damage isn't as strong as it used to be, since people tend to buy more HP rather than stack Armor. Despite my hatred for Corki right now I recently saw Wildturtle get a penta on Corki on his stream, plus Nientosoh had a sick game with him in the LCS with MRN.

I believe he still should go Trinity Force, and then rush full damage items.

Still, can you make me a favour? Try to play corki with magic pen runes and boots of magic pen, then the rest just AD items.

His ulti is magic damage... so if you want to be a pooker, try magic pen ^^ (I can't try, I haven't got magic pen runes...)
