Ellie Winter is an Oxford University graduate, currently studying for a masters in cello performance at the Royal Northern College of Music. After leaving Oxford, Ellie discovered her talents as an artist and her work is now sold across the world. She has produced exhibitions in tandem with major musical projects, as well as portraits and other commissions. She particularly enjoys exploring visual representations of music.
Ellie is entirely self-taught, and is continuously expanding her range of media. She favours graphite, charcoal and watercolour, and is exploring ways of combining these mediums.
March 3rd 2019 Exhibition
Ellie has created an exhibition in celebration of the Seraphin Chamber Orchestra & Friends’ upcoming performance of Mahler’s Ninth Symphony. The pieces take inspiration from two main themes: ‘Farewell’, a core motif of Mahler’s ninth – and final – complete symphony, as well as ‘Musical Education’, as demonstrated wonderfully by the cross-generational nature of the orchestra.
The exhibition will be on display at West Road Concert Hall during the evening of the performance. Pieces are available for sale as postcards, prints and originals, both at the event and online. A percentage of all of sales will be donated to The Voices Foundation.
